SBS has officially made an announcement that its highly-popular variety show, Running Man, will cease in February 2017. Plans for a Season 2 has been cancelled as well.
This news comes amidst the recent controversy regarding the unjust dismissal of Song Ji Hyo and Kim Jong Kook as well as talks of a revamped Season 2 with the possible casting of Kang Ho Dong.
After a series of urgent meetings with the cast and producers in Seoul, they managed to clear up the misunderstandings and came to the final decision that the program will shut its doors and terminate in February 2017. Wanting to end the show on a good note, they decided to have all 6 members - Yoo Jae Suk, Ji Suk Jin, Kim Jong Kook, HaHa, Lee Kwang Soo and Song Ji Hyo - wrap up the 7-year long program.
Meanwhile, Kang Gary made his departure from the program a month back to focus on his music career. There has been no news as to whether he will be joining the rest of the members. That would certainly be a bittersweet last farewell, to have all 7 members up till the last episode, don't you think?
